Back in November we tweeted to tell you we were taking timeout of the office to help shape the young digital minds of Kent by taking part in the BIMA Digital Day.



BIMA provided the students with three different briefs from three very different brands; Sony Music, Vodafone and Standard Life. The briefing material took the students through a problem scenario that faced the users of each perspective brand paired with a brand business need or objective. They then set about in groups to begin brain storming and adopting techniques such as story boarding, conducting user research, market research and scenario planning around feasibility for the technology they were hoping to implement.

Here’s what Gemma Kane, our Senior Account Manager thought about it:

“The biggest take away from the day was that the students took to the work intuitively, they instinctively knew the importance of understanding the user.”

We were so impressed by the level of talent we found at Invicta Grammar School in Maidstone, that we even went on to write a blog about it. The girls we met were bursting with ideas, insight and enthusiasm and it seems we weren’t the only ones impressed, as the school has made it into the final round of judging for Digital Day 2015.

Adam Duff, Group Mobile Commercial Manager at Vodafone was generous enough to pass on his feedback to the students and the team:

“It was a great idea and was executed extremely well – the level of detail from Invicta was very impressive (while still maintaining great clarity)”.

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

The students of Invicta Grammar School intuitively applied their skills to the project and approached it in manner you would expect to find in any professional creative agency. It’s fair to say the future looks pretty bright for any of these young girls should they choose to follow a career in digital. So watch out!

We thoroughly enjoyed the day and can’t wait for the next one. But most of all we are super-proud that the hard work put in by the girls at Invicta Grammar School has got the recognition it deserved.
